THIRD SUNDAY OF EASTER, 4.30.17

I have the 10:30am Mass today and will begin an article before Mass and afterwards.

I last wrote on Thursday, April 20th.

On Friday, the 21st, I had the 8am Mass and Exposition and the 5:30pm Mass. I met with the young girl who wants to be baptized before she goes to a local Catholic High school. It’s going well. I returned to the air conditioning for the evening.

On Saturday, April 22nd, Patrick, the seminarian drove me over to Ft. Lincoln cemetery and I met Maggie and her children and Marie’s children and we prayed at her grave. It was her first anniversary – hard to believe it’s a year. Then we went to breakfast at IHOP and Marie, through Mary treated all of us 14 of us! Mary dropped me back at the rectory and I just stayed in the AC.

I had the 12:30pm Mass on Sunday, the 23rd. And returned to the AC immediately.

Took Monday, the 24th off and stayed in my suite all day. Pollen is very bad. A friend of Carmen’s came by as she is here visiting her son’s family. We had a nice visit.

On Tuesday, the 25th, I went to my first therapy session for my arm and leg. We’ll see what comes of that. I had exposition and evening Mass. Early to bed.

On Wednesday, I had the 8am Mass and then Brian came and drove me to Magiano’s where we had lunch with Fr. Jim Boccabella and his brother, Paul. Brian put a cool picture of us on Facebook and if I learn how to do it, I’ll post it here soon.

Thursday, the 27th, I had the 8am and the evening Mass. I had a visitor for spiritual direction and spent much of the time in my office; opening nice notes from people who received the newsletter and re-addressing many that were returned as undeliverable. I was able to find new addresses. I am so glad I worked on the newsletter.

On Friday, the 28th, I had the 8am Mass and then Joan drove me to the dentist. It went fine and he took x-rays so I guess I’ll be going back. Talked on the phone most of the day.

Slept in Saturday, the 29th and came over to work at my desk around 1pm. Had confessions 4 to 5:15. when I came out, my cousin, Andrew Gibbons was here to drive me to his sister’s house for supper with his wife and kids and Maggie’s husband, Rich and their son, Aidan. We had a great dinner and lots of laughs. Their mother, my cousin, Ellie called on Skype or whatever they call it. We could hear and see her and she could hear and see us. It was neat.

Today, I had the 10:30am Mass. Maggie, Sean, and Aidan all came. It was the choir Mass and beautiful music. I preached on Jesus not knowing he was Divine till the Resurrection. Everyone seemed comfortable with it. I walked to the front door in case anyone wanted to talk about it; but all the comments were positive. I am giving a similar presentation at Stone Ridge on Friday.

After Mass, Rose and Patty Petrone picked me up. With Molly in the car, we went and picked up Father Trancone. We went to a nice Italian place near Annapolis for a good meal. Then we drove Molly to work. We went shopping at Wal-Mart – (Rose and I stayed in the car). then we took Fr. T back to O’Boyle and the ladies brought me home. I think I’m going to bed because I have therapy tomorrow around 11:30am,
