Continuation of March 11
Tuesday, March 11th, 2014You can’t seem to edit this and that’s why I just sent it out.
Saturday evening, we went to see Heartland Home. It was all dancing like Riverdance and very enthusiastic. Again, I was glad to get to bed.
On sunday, Pat and I went to the 11am Mass at Holy Name Cathedral. It was redone after a recent fire and is beautiful. Then we join Jose and Rod and went to a brunch – delicious and inexpensive. Then we drove to see the Ba’hi temple along the lake. It was a sunny day and in the 40’s. The guys took my car to keep it. Again I was glad to get to bed.
On Monday, Pat and I went shopping and started to pack. We met Z, she is the property manager of Pat’s condo, and had dinner together. It was great and a lot of laughs. She is from Serbia.
And today, we get on the train. I’ll try to write from the train.
CONTINUATION OF MARCH 11th
Tuesday, March 11th, 2014I called Logitech and discovered that my “bluetooth” wasn’t on. I didn’t even know I had such a thing or that I had to turn it on; so now I am using my keyboard and it is so much easier.
Back to the update:
Saturday night I had the 5;30pm Mass and a short homily as we are still doing the Cardinal’s Appeal for part of the time. My homily was brief and to the point.
Sunday morning, I met with a few couples who are getting married and I had the baptism of a nice couple I married three years ago. It was great to see them and their families Please keep Thomas Vincent and all his family in your prayers. I then met Mary Beth and Vance at Clyde’s for llunch and then had the 5:30pm Mass again. Some short homily.
Monday, the 3rd, we had a lot of snow and I had to cancel dinner with the boys and reschedule it for the 31st. I did visit with Pat Horan Granados who was in from California. We went to grade school togethr.
On Tuesday, it snowed again and everything got cancelled.
On Wednesday, Ash Wednesday I had a full morning with Mass and ashes. I also visit a teenager in the hospital. Please pray for him and this family. That night I went to Baltimore for the wake for Bernadette Fowler, she was Monsignor Dade’s niece and we were often at her home for great meals and cards. Please keep her, her children, siblings, and many friends in your prayers.
On Thursday, Jerry joined me for the funeral at St. Ursula’s and after the internment, I headed home to pack. I just couldn’t get my act together so I went to bed.
On Friday, the 6th, I finally had the men fill my car with lots of boxes and shirts on hangers and headed out for Chicago. It was a sunny day and I drove over 400 miles – stopping to exercise my legs, etc. Around 8pm, i pulled into a motel about 30 mile past Ohio. I went to b ed quickly.
On Saturday, I woke to discover about 2 inches of snow on the car. Had breakfast and headed for Chicago (about 120 miles). Drove through snow all the way to the skyway. Got into Pat’s around 11am, I forgot that it’s a different time zone. We went out to supper with Jose and I was glad to get to bed
TUESDAY MARCH 11
Tuesday, March 11th, 2014I am in Chicago and Pat Berry and I will board . the train for California at 3pm.
On Feb 27th, I went to Visitation High School to hear confession.
On Friday, I drove up to the Favret’s near Frederick and visited with them and Mary, who was visiting from Indiana. We had a great time. Then I drove to Baltimore to attend MAC2014. Joe STOUTZENBERGER came in the afternoon and he and I went to a great concert of liturgical music.I sent to publish because it just wouldn’t do what I wanted. I can’t use my keyboard, so this is one finger at a time. I also had a great meal with Eileen and Jay Baughan while I was in Baltimore. Saw Sr. Kass briefly.
On Saturday, Joe and I had breakfast with his friend, Patty. I went to a good talk by a Brother on Dorothy Day. Then I headed to St. Mary’s in Barnesville to baptize a baby. Please keep his family, especially his great grandparents, Gerry and Al Size, St. B’s friends in your prayers.
FRIDAY OF THE FIRST WEEK OF LENT
Friday, March 7th, 2014Hello out there,
I am getting in my car at 10:45am to head to Ohio and spend the night. Then in the morning, I will drive to Chicago and stay at Pat’s. I hope while I am with him to write and catch you up on last week. For Lent, one of my resolutions is to be faithful to writing.
